Životopis
Born Caterina de' Pazzi in Florence in 1566, she entered the Carmelite convent at age sixteen and took the religious name Mary Magdalene. A mystic of exceptional spiritual depth, she experienced profound ecstatic states and visions that lasted for hours, during which she spoke of divine love and the suffering of Christ. Though illiterate, her revelations were recorded by her sisters and later compiled into spiritual writings. She devoted herself to strict asceticism and worked tirelessly for the reform of her Carmelite order, emphasizing the importance of pure love of God. Despite severe illness in her later years, she maintained unwavering faith and submission to God's will. Her spiritual autobiography reveals a soul consumed by union with Christ. She died in 1607 at age forty-one and was canonized in 1669.
